Several years after completing the original custom home, we returned to reimagine the outdoor living spaces, creating an experience that complements the home in both beauty and function. Working closely with the homeowners and a talented team of local trades, the project evolved into a resort-inspired retreat where every addition feels as though it has always belonged.

Spaces That Flow Together
Designed with entertaining in mind, the backyard unfolds as a series of connected outdoor spaces. The infinity-edge pool is the focal point of the design, while dedicated areas for dining, lounging, swimming, and relaxing flow naturally from one to the next. A custom poolside pavilion, outdoor kitchen and bar, hot tub, fire features, and generous gathering areas create an environment equally suited to hosting large gatherings and enjoying quiet evenings at home.
Luxurious Resort-style Touches
As the project progressed, the homeowners’ vision continued to evolve, and we incorporated new ideas and custom features along the way. Integrated audio, landscape lighting, tiki torches, an outdoor shower, and a television built into the poolside pavilion add comfort, convenience, and a sense of occasion throughout the space.
Grounded in Natural Materials
A carefully curated material palette gives the backyard its warmth and timeless character. Western Red Cedar brings richness to the pergola ceiling, structural beams, and privacy fencing, while expertly crafted stonework by Alliston Stoneworks unifies the pool, patios, walkways, and gathering spaces. Paired with architectural concrete, steel, and lush landscaping, these natural materials create a sophisticated outdoor setting at home in its coastal surroundings.

The completed backyard feels like a natural extension of the home itself. Designed for celebrations, family dinners, quiet mornings, and everything in between, it balances resort-style luxury with everyday comfort. Returning to a home we had already built allowed us to build on an existing vision, creating an outdoor living experience that will be enjoyed for generations.
