Tyler Leblanc

Project Manager

Growing up on the Saanich Peninsula, Tyler developed an early appreciation for building and the trades. He began his construction career in 2011, drawn to homes that were anything but ordinary, and earned his Red Seal certification in 2017. He then spent several years in Vancouver on renovations and new homes designed by some of the city’s leading architects, progressing from carpenter and lead carpenter into site supervision and project management.

In 2021, Tyler returned to Victoria to be closer to family and later joined Philco, drawn by its detailed, open-book approach to budgeting. With cost being such an important part of any custom build, he values Philco’s commitment to transparency and keeping clients informed throughout the process.

As a Project Manager, Tyler oversees projects from planning through completion. He works closely with clients, site supervisors, trades, suppliers, and consultants while managing schedules, budgets, and procurement. He enjoys the problem-solving side of construction and has a particular appreciation for the small technical details that may go unnoticed once a home is complete but make a real difference in how it’s built and how it performs.

Outside of work, Tyler spends most of his time with family and friends, often fishing or on the golf course. He and his wife recently welcomed their first child.

Stu Clarke

Project Manager

Born on the Sunshine Coast and raised across British Columbia before settling in Victoria in 2001, Stu discovered an early passion for hands-on craftsmanship and creating things others could enjoy. That drive first bloomed in high school, leading him into a decade-long career in the culinary industry. Through ten years in commercial kitchens, he built a strong work ethic, a sharp sense of timing, and a deep appreciation for the hustle required to deliver quality work. In 2015, seeking a new challenge while staying true to his love of crafting, he traded his chef’s knife for a hammer and transitioned into residential construction.

After broadening his trade skills across several construction firms, Stu joined Philco in 2018, where he found his long-term professional home. He earned his Red Seal endorsement upon completing his apprenticeship in 2019 and has continued to hone his craft both on and off the tools ever since. Today, Stu brings a sharp eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and clear communication to every jobsite, managing projects efficiently from start to finish so clients can rest easy knowing their homes are in good hands.

Outside of work, Stu approaches his personal interests with the same drive for growth and lifelong learning. An avid distance runner, he has completed three marathons, fifteen half-marathons, and many local race events. When he isn’t training or riding his motorcycle, a passion he took up in the summer of 2026, you can find him outdoors enjoying quality time with his wife and their golden retriever.

Kris Murphy

Project Manager

Born in Alberta into a military family, Kris learned early to adapt quickly and connect with people from all walks of life. After moving frequently, his family eventually settled in Victoria.

Kris began his construction career in 2005 and later earned his Red Seal certification through Camosun College. He led crews at a young age before moving into high-end custom home construction, he’s known for being able to build just about anything his wife can dream up. After meeting Phil and Glenn while managing a custom home next door to one of Philco’s projects, Kris saw the direction the company was heading and jumped at the opportunity to join us.

Today, as a Project Manager, Kris brings over two decades of hands-on experience, combining construction knowledge with leadership and problem-solving. He takes pride in turning bare lots into homes built to last and leading his teams with respect and by example.

Outside of work, Kris enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, camping, staying active, and enjoying the outdoors.

Adam Stewart

Project Manager

Adam grew up in Courtenay, BC, where he spent several years in the restaurant industry, including time in a leadership role, before an interest in the trades led him toward construction. He began in residential framing with no prior experience, spending four years honing his skills in Courtenay before relocating to Victoria to further his career.

In Victoria, Adam spent 18 years with company specializing in commercial framing and concrete, serving as lead foreman. He joined Philco as a Site Superintendent and has since moved into the role of Project Manager. In this role, he oversees morning site startups, briefs crews on project details, coordinates materials and tools, delivers job-specific training, and maintains clear communication with clients and vendors to keep projects on schedule.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys playing the drums, spending time with his daughter, and relaxing at his family’s cabin near the beach in Port Renfrew.

Jess Gardiner

Admin & Project Coordinator

Born and raised in Victoria, Jess grew up watching her dad build houses and spent as much time as she could around job sites, which set her on a path into construction. She began her career as a labourer for a concrete foundation and general contracting company before moving into office operations.

Jess joined Philco in October 2024, drawn by Phil and Glenn’s commitment to their team and clients alike. What she enjoys most is being part of a group that builds beautiful homes people are genuinely proud to own. Day to day, she juggles AP invoicing, office and project coordination, and job site safety. 

Outside the office, Jess spends time with family, coaches the UVic Vikes women’s soccer team, and plays for the Gorge women’s premier soccer team.

Carina McChesney

Client Experience & Operations Coordinator

Carina grew up in Victoria before spending 20 years building her career across the prairies. In 2022, she made her way back home to Victoria, bringing with her a background in managing office relocations and renovations, leading teams, coordinating projects from start to finish, and building the systems and vendor relationships that kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes. As Client Experience & Operations Coordinator at Philco, Carina now brings that same attention to detail and people-first approach to the client journey, operations, and Philco’s marketing and social media presence.

When she’s not in the office, you will find Carina out for a power walk, run, or hiking the trails – she starting running 10K races in spring 2026, or finding fun ways to spend quality time with her significant other and family.

About You

You should have several years of experience managing complex custom home projects, with a strong ability to communicate clearly with clients, trades, and consultants. You’re proactive in planning, understand the nuances of project budgeting, and are confident leading teams through the day-to-day challenges that come with high-end residential construction utilizing past experiences of managing custom home builds.

Your Responsibilities

You will serve as the primary point of contact for the client and work closely with the Site Supervisor to coordinate subtrades, vendors, consultants, and site personnel. You will be responsible for developing and managing the project schedule and ensuring that timelines are met and that all parties are properly informed of upcoming tasks and deadlines.

Clear communication will be key, as you’ll be expected to manage client expectations, address inquiries, and ensure timely updates are passed along to the Project Coordinator. Your ability to stay organized, anticipate project needs, and navigate evolving site conditions will be essential to keeping projects running smoothly and on budget.

This role requires someone who is both detail-oriented and adaptable, with a strong understanding of custom residential construction and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Project & Client Leadership

  • Client relationship: regular updates, expectation management, and decision facilitation to ensure client decisions are being made promptly as to not affect the schedule
  • Lead project planning: build and maintain a detailed schedule that the clients will be able to follow via our software
  • Keep budgets and timelines in line with client and Philco expectations
  • Daily logs in our software

Financial Stewardship

  • Working with our Project Coordinator to develop and track project budgets and effectively managing change orders
  • Maintain transparency and accuracy in financial reporting to clients and the office
  • Manage labour and material costs

Team & Trade Coordination

  • Work with subcontractors, suppliers, and site supervisors, holding them to Philco standards in their work and their communication
  • Support learning opportunities and development of team members
  • Work with Site Supervisors, other PMs, and the office to trouble-shoot any issues and ensure resources are allocated effectively across all projects

Quality & Risk Management

  • Maintain a safe, respectful ,and professional job site consistent with Philco standards
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality workmanship and code compliance, being in constant contact with clients on all developments
  • Identify and mitigate risks early; lead resolution of site or client issues

Required Skills

We’re looking for a proven leader with a track record in custom home building who is comfortable working closely with a client, coordinating with our office team, or walking a construction site.

Must-Haves/Non-negotiables

  • 5+ years of project management in custom home building or major residential renovations
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, reading, and understanding building and engineering plans and municipal permitting processes
  • A building trade background (Red Seal Carpentry preferred)
  • Familiarity with Vancouver Island permitting and inspection processes
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, procedures, and best practices
  • Exceptional communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a high-stress environment, multiple stakeholders, shifting timelines, and complex budgets
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Nice-to-Haves

  • Proficiency with project management tools/software and standard office software
  • Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, Gold Seal)
  • OFA Level 1 Certification

Financial Controller

Carly grew up in a small town on the Sunshine Coast before making her way to Victoria, where she built a career doing what she does best: making sense of numbers. She spent her early years in the construction industry before transitioning to an accounting firm for a decade, gaining the kind of well-rounded financial experience that’s hard to teach. These days, she’s back in the world she started in and loving it. As Financial Controller at Philco, Carly oversees everything from finance and payroll to HR and project cost analysis and genuinely enjoys the people and clients she gets to work alongside every day.

When she’s not keeping Philco’s books in order, you’ll find Carly knitting—she sells her creations at local markets—or out adventuring with her husband and their dog Ruby. She has a love of travel, trying new foods, and exploring new places, and she’s happiest surrounded by good people and new experiences.

Clint Anderson

Chief Operating Officer

For Clint, construction has always been about how thoughtfully built spaces shape the way we live and connect with our communities. That perspective took root in his early work building sets for theatre, where he learned to translate design into something tangible. It eventually drew him toward a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma with a focus in Construction Management, and into a career spanning project management, coordination and estimating on custom homes and renovations throughout Victoria and the Gulf Islands.

At Philco, Clint’s work centres on standardizing how projects are estimated, budgeted, scheduled and tracked, so that clients get clear numbers, consistent communication and a well-run project no matter its size. He continues to work closely with the estimating team, bringing the same precision to early pricing that he brings to the systems behind every build.

Outside of work, Clint and his partner Chelsea can usually be found walking the dogs around town, catching a live show, or tracking down the island’s best food, drink and quiet corners of nature

Jon Toronchuk

Project Coordinator

Born and raised in Edmonton, Jon moved to Vancouver at twenty to study architecture, graduating from BCIT in 2014 with both a diploma and a Bachelor of Architecture. He spent the next decade in the industry, designing and coordinating institutional, commercial, mixed-use, and residential projects at Vancouver architecture firms. Next came five years with the City of Vancouver in the Housing and Development departments, where he developed a sharp eye for permitting, zoning, and the regulatory detail that shapes how projects get built.

In 2023, Jon relocated to Vancouver Island and joined the Philco team, where his role has grown to span pre-construction coordination, estimating, permit management, and client relations. He brings a rare combination of design literacy, municipal experience, and hands-on project coordination to every project. Outside of work, he can be found adventuring with his wife, two boys, and their dog George Clooney.
