Set atop a rolling landscape of lavender fields and fruit trees, the Lavender Fields Farmhouse is designed for family life. The homeowners wanted a home to complement their existing detached garage and carriage house, and the result is a residence that brings together casual elegance and thoughtful function.

Inviting from the First Moment
A covered wraparound deck shelters the main entry and establishes the home’s easy rhythms and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors are greeted by a handcrafted front door of remarkable scale—nearly nine feet tall, over four feet wide, and four inches thick—alongside a traditional Dutch door leading into the mudroom. These thoughtful entry points reinforce the home’s farmhouse character while supporting the practicalities of everyday living.
Where Millwork Takes Centre Stage
Inside, the home is a showcase of fine craftsmanship, opening into the main living area that feels almost cathedral-like in its scale. Soaring 20-foot timber-framed gambrel ceilings draw the eye upward while finely executed finishes bring balance and intimacy to the spaces below. Shiplap walls, exposed rafters, board-and-batten detailing, and extensive custom millwork harmonize in a space that’s both breathtaking and welcoming.
A Signature Staircase
One of the project’s most distinctive features is the custom stair railing. Inspired by the iconic detailing of the Empress Hotel, the original concept presented a significant cost challenge. Through close collaboration, the team explored creative solutions to preserve the design intent while aligning with the budget. Using a CNC machine, our teams fabricated the spindles, which were then assembled and installed on site. This one-of-a-kind element speaks to ingenuity and collaboration, and it reflects the spirit of the entire build: creative problem-solving and a commitment to doing things right.

The Lavender Fields Farmhouse is designed to be lived in, a place for welcoming friends and family, hosting celebrations, and investing everyday moments with a beautiful sense of ease. Surrounded by the hum of honeybees and the sounds of laughter drifting from the pool, this farmhouse is a joyous place where quality is evident in every corner, and where gathering comes naturally.
